Barr Camp
A non-profit, community and volunteer supported organization, dedicated to providing information, support, and aid for visitors to Pikes Peak. It acts as a base for peak rescue operations and educates the public about wilderness ethics.
CityRock Climbing Gyms
Both CityRock gyms, located in Colorado Springs and Monument, have climbing for all ages and abilities, with top-roping, lead climbing, cracks, overhangs, and challenging boulder problems. They offer a number of programs, including parties, after-school classes, and a climbing team.
Colorado Avalanche Information Center
The CAIC offers detailed, frequently updated forecasts for backcountry conditions across Colorado during snow seasons. Check for avalanche warnings, weather conditions, and road closures if you are planning to ice climb or ski in the backcountry.
El Paso County Search and Rescue
A mountain search and rescue unit dedicated to saving lives through search, rescue, and mountain safety education. This highly trained team is composed entirely of volunteers and does not charge a fee for its services.
