To determine your dog's size, it is necessary to measure its paw width. The most effective way to do this is to have your dog stand with one front paw on a sheet of paper over a firm, flat surface. Hold the other paw up so that all the weight is over the paper, then mark the paper at the widest point of the paw. Round up to the nearest quarter inch.
